Is a Crown Right for Me?
Crowns are an excellent way to replace missing or damaged teeth, but are also fitted to patients who have suffered a loss of enamel and are tired of suffering through the effects of weakened teeth.
A dental crown might be the right choice for you if you have one of the following conditions:
- Cracked teeth as a result of trauma
- Chipped teeth
- Damage caused over time
- Teeth weakened by decay
- Replacing a heavily-filled tooth
What’s The Procedure?
Fitting a dental crown begins with your dental practitioner carefully reshaping the existing tooth to allow the crown to fit securely, with local anaesthetic used to ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
Then an impression will be taken of the tooth so the crown can be developed, with your dentist providing you with a temporary crown until the permanent implant is ready. Once your crown is ready it will be fitted in place, and provide you with a happy and healthy smile for years to come.
